Norma Johnson


Norma Johnson, 103 of Hanska died Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Tuesday, September 10, at the Lake Hanska Lutheran Church in rural Hanska with Pastor Sarah Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake Hanska Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service at church on Tuesday.

The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Hanska is handling the arrangements.

Norma is survived by her daughters, Diane (Jim) Krebsbach of North Mankato, Marjorie (Kieth) Olson of Worthington, Debra (Brad) Tingelhoff of Kingsport, Tennessee; Son Dennis (Beverly) Johnson of New Ulm; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Abner Ogdahl, Julian (Mary) Ogdahl and Clifford (Mildred) Ogdahl, all of Glenwood; and by a sister-in-law, Eleanor Ogdahl of Glenwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold; sisters, Thelma Ouren, Gladys Helling; brother, Lester Ogdahl; grandson, Corey Johnson; and by a great granddaughter, Karley Young.

Norma Hansine Ogdahl was born July 27, 1910 in Glenwood to Anton and Theoline (Dalager) Ogdahl. She was a 1928 graduate of Glenwood High School and she also attended Mankato Normal School in Mankato. Norma was united in marriage to Arnold Johnson November 3, 1934 at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church in rural Hanska. After marriage they farmed their entire married lives in Lake Hanska and Albion Townships. Norma enjoyed sewing, especially for her grandchildren and was a wonderful Norwegian Baker. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Norma was a member of the Lake Hanska Lutheran Church where she was involved in many groups within the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Lake Hanska Lutheran Church and the Luther Memorial Home.
