Koelpin leads New Ulm past Marshall

MARSHALL – The New Ulm boys soccer team won its sixth straight match with a 4-1 nonconference victory over Marshall on Tuesday.

New Ulm’s Josh Koelpin led the way with a goal and three assists. Koelpin assisted on Tim Plocher’s goal and then Koelpin assisted on Sam Wiechman’s goal.

Koelpin scored on an assist from Noah Webb and Koelpin set up Webb’s goal for the final margin.

Jonathan Sehloff finished the game with eight saves. New Ulm finished the game with 32 shots on goal.

New Ulm (6-1) hosts Worthington on Tuesday at the Martin Luther College Soccer Complex.

New Ulm girls defeat Loyola

MANKATO – The New Ulm girls socer team defeated Mankato Loyola 2-1 in South Central Conference action Tuesday.

Bridgette Brown scored New Ulm’s first goal on an assist from Lydia Schoof. The Crusaders scored the equalizer before halftime and New Ulm scored the winning goal in the second half when Theresa Howard scored on an assist from Nicole Moldstad.

New Ulm (2-4, 1-3 SCC) hosts Hutchinson on Monday at the Martin Luther College Soccer Complex.
