NEW ULM – Denise Clyne, 46, of New Ulm died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Monsignor John A. Richter celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.

Denise is survived by her parents, Denny and Marge Clyne of Davenport, Iowa; grandmother, Arleen Portner of New Ulm; brother Dean (Cheryl Wilgren) Clyne of St. Paul; niece, Rachel (Nathan) Boelke of St. Paul; and grandnieces and grandnephew, Ella, Lilja, and Josh. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Repass and Leona Clyne; grandfather, Harry Portner; aunts, Dorothy, Barb, Doris, Darlene; uncles, Don, Louie, and Jack; and special friend, Scott Lang.
Denise Marie Clyne was born Aug. 15, 1967 in New Ulm to Dennis and Margaret (Portner) Clyne. She graduated from Cathedral High School with the class of 1985 and then attended Commercial Baking School in Mankato. She worked at Hy-Vee in New Ulm for 14 years. Denise loved animals, especially her cat, Macie, who now resides at the Oak Hills Hospice to comfort residents in Denise’s memory. Denise was also involved with Relay for Life and the Humane Society. Memorials are preferred to “Family Wishes.”
