Grandmother, granddaughter authors to be at Hermann Heights Saturday
NEW ULM – Judy Sellner and her granddaughter Evie Sellner, a third grader at St. Anthony’s. Elementary School, have been collaborating on a pair of children’s books this past year.
They will be holding a book signing today from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Hermann Heights Park, Shelter #1, with their illustrator, Lana Beck.
The first book, “The Dinosaur That Was Wrong” is about a dinosaur who thinks that the neighboring village of fairies is stealing his food, only to find out that he is wrong. Danger, the shark, is also a character. He is misunderstood and only wants to play volleyball with everyone else. The reader is also challenged to see if they can count all of the toothbrushes in this book.
“Shimberly Tootle the Poodle” is about a poodle who is elected to spy on the nasty, sly felines from Meow City who are plotting to steal the Sapphire Bone from the First National Dog Kennel Bank in Barkyville.
The authors will also be at the New Ulm Public Library at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 to read their stories for Family Night.
