PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUND-UP: Springfield, Wabasso earn sweeps

Springfield 3, St. Mary’s 0

SLEEPY EYE – Springfield defeated Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s in a Tomahawk Conference volleyball match-up Tuesday 25-15, 25-21, 25-14.

Becca Schmitz had seven kills and three blocks for St. Mary’s. Bethany Berkner had 21 set assists.

For Springfield, Taylor Milbrath had four aces and eight kills. Amanda Rogotzke was 17-for-17 serving and Mariah Hoyt had seven kills. Jenny Thoreson had 30 set assists and 10 digs. Amy Davis and Molly Dunn both had 10 digs.

Springfield (5-7, 3-2) hosts New Ulm Cathedral Thursday.

St. Mary’s (1-4 in conference) will play Sleepy Eye Thursday.

Wabasso 3, Sleepy Eye 0

SLEEPY EYE – Wabasso swept Sleepy Eye 25-15, 25-21, 25-15 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference match.

Chelsey Guetter led the way for Wabasso with 15 kills and also 12 digs. Callie Rohlik was 13-for-13 serving with three aces and six kills. Larissa Rohlik was 10-for-10 serving with two aces and 14 set assists. Mindy Goblirsh had five blocks and was 10-for-10 serving with two aces. Kacie Rothmeier had eight digs and 13 set assists.

For Sleepy Eye, Claire Krumbach had nine kills. Karrah Remus had five kills, and Justine Gonzalez had three aces. Miranda McMullen had five digs and Hanna Sellner had four digs.

Wabasso (10-2, 4-1) hosts Minnesota Valley Lutheran Thursday. Sleepy Eye hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Thursday.

MVL 3, CM/C 2

MORGAN – Minnesota Valley Lutheran defeated Cedar Mountain/Comfrey in a Tomahawk Conference volleyball match Tuesday, 23-25, 25-20, 14-25, 25-15, 15-10.

CM/C’s Victoria Hardwick was 22-for-23 serving with three aces. Courtney Nelsen had 10 kills and 16 digs, Brianna Lund added 10 kills and 19 digs. Natalie Hoffbeck had 33 set assists. Andrea Ochs added 24 digs and Karliana Kelly had 10 blocks.

For MVL, Bekka Olsen had 12 kills, 19 digs and five ace serves. Riley Weisensel had 15 kills and Laura Schoenherr had 40 set assists. Mariah Stein had 20 digs.

CMC (1-11 overall, 1-4 Tomahawk) will play Red Rock Central Monday. MVL?(8-8, 2-2 Tomahawk) is at Wabasso Thursday.

GFW 3, GSL 1

WINTHROP – Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop defeated Glencoe-Silver Lake in nonconference volleyball.

Erin McDurmont had seven kills and Carol Griebel had seven kills. Morgan Wenninger had 28 digs, 15 set assists, six kills and five blocks. Kaitlyn Seehafer had five blocks and Halley Busse had 31 digs. Claire Leitheiser had 12 set assists.

GFW (9-6) is at BLHS on Thursday.
