East defeats New Ulm girls, 4-2

NEW ULM – The New Ulm girls soccer team fell to Mankato East 4-2 on Saturday at the Martin Luther College Soccer Complex.

The Eagles got a goal from Bridgette Brown on a breakaway in the first half and New Ulm trailed 2-1 at the break.

After East went ahead 3-1 in the second half, Lydia Schoof scored on an assist from Nicole Moldstad. East added a late goal for the final 4-2 margin.

New Ulm’s Claire Boeder finished with 10 saves. New Ulm (5-9) hosts Waseca at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Martin Luther College Soccer Complex.
