New Ulm sweeps Blue Earth Area in SCC

BLUE EARTH – New Ulm swept Blue Earth Area Thursday in South Central Conference volleyball action 25-13, 25-22, 25-19.

New Ulm’s Lizzie Rummel and Chase Schewe each had seven kills to lead the Eagles. Alley Grejtak added six kills and Ellie Schneider had five kills.

Schewe and Briana Sieve each had 17 digs. Grejtak had 10 set assists and Tori Botten added eight set assists.

New Ulm will host Jackson County Central in a nonconference match-up on Monday.

Redwood Valley 3,

Springfield 0

REDWOOD – Redwood Valley swept Springfield in a non-conference volleyball match-up Thursday 25-20, 25-12, 25-17.

Springfield’s Amanda Rogotzke was 16-for-16 serving with two aces and added 22 digs. Taylor Milbrath was 9-for-10 serving. Heidi Veenstra had five kills and Mariah Hoyt added four. Jenny Thoreson had 15 set assists and 13 digs.

No stats were available for Redwood Valley.

Springfield (5-10 overall, 3-4 in conference) will travel Saturday to the Nicollet Tournament.

Cathedral 3, CM/C 0

MORGAN – New Ulm Cathedral defeated Cedar Mountain/Comfrey Thursday in a non-conference game 25-19, 25-13, 25-10.

Cathedral’s Abby Hauser was 17-for-17 serving with two aces and 13 digs. Kristin Mohr was 14-for-14 serving, had 10 kills, 16 digs and three blocks. Amber Hillesheim was 13 for 13 serving with 13 digs. Anna Mohr had nine kills and MacKinnon Ehlenz added four kills and two blocks. Morgan Schabert had two set assists.

For CM/C, Karliana Kelly was 8 for 8 serving with two aces, six kills, 10 digs and two blocks. Andrea Ochs had 20 digs and Courtney Nelsen and Victoria Hardwick each added six kills. Natalie Hoffbeck had 21 set assists.

CM/C (1-13 overall, 1-5 in conference) will host Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Tuesday.

Cathedral will play at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Monday.
