PREP FOOTBALL ROUND-UP: Nicollet cruises to big victory

GHEC/Truman 7

GRANADA – Nicollet defeated Granada/Huntley/East Chain/Truman in a Southern Confederacy Conference football matchup. The game was called off with 7:30 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Nicollet’s Dalton Elliot had three rushing touchdowns and made a 45-yard pass to Matt Fischer for a touchdown. Matt Christenson had a 2-yard run for a touchdown and had 11 tackles. Andrew Radke had five tackles and two sacks and Colin Bloemke had seven tackles.

Nicollet (7-0) will host Alden-Conger Wednesday.

Madelia 40, Fulda 6

FULDA – Madelia quarterback Kyle Schultz threw three touchdown passes and Landon Martinez ran for two other scores to lead the Blackhawks past Fulda 40-6 Friday night in a Southern Confederacy Conference 9-man football game.

Schultz threw all three touchdown passes to Riley Benzel. One of them was for 76 yards.

Jack Bergeman had 10 tackles for Madelia.

Madelia (5-2) hosts Randolph Wednesday night.

Martin County West 41, Springfield 14

SHERBURN – Martin County West defeated Springfield 41-14 Friday night in a Southern Minnesota Conference football game.

Carter Erickson led the Tigers rushing 11 times for 75 yards and two touchdowns. He was 12-for-19 passing for 102 yards. Ryan Fleischer had four catches for 29 yards and he had 11 tackles.

Springfield (3-4) hosts New Ulm Cathedral (5-2) Wednesday night.

RRC 28, CM/C 16

LAMBERTON – Red Rock Central defeated Cedar Mountain/Comfrey Friday in a Southern Minnesota Conference football game.

Jordan Schroepfer had 41 carries for 208 yards and four touchdowns for RRC. Derek Christians had 18 catches for 85 yards and Taylor Bunting was 4-of-5 passing with 36 yards.

For the Cougars, Chandler Rose threw for 96 yards and a touchdown. Josh Green rushed for 52 yards and Brady Kerkhoff had 34 yards receiving and a touchdown.

RRC (2-5) will travel to Martin County West Wednesday. CM/C is at Wabasso on Wednesday.

Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity 34, GFW 14

WINSTED – Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 34-14 Friday night in a nonconference football game.

Jayden Katzenmeyer was 7-for-12 for 72 yards for the Thunderbirds. Dominic Metzger rushed 15 times for 96 yards and one touchdown. Brett VanMaasdam had 41 yards on three carries.

GFW (0-7, 0-4) hosts New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva next Wednesday night.
