REDWOOD FALLS – Florence Tauer, 81, of Redwood Falls and formerly of New Ulm, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society-Sunwood in Redwood Falls.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls with Father Michael Doyle celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Wednesday. Florence is survived by her daughter, Bernie Tauer of Canby; granddaughter, Amber Tauer of Willmar; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Jerome Tauer on Feb. 9, 1976.
Florence Mary Duetsch was born on Feb. 14, 1932 in New Ulm to Joseph and Emma Duetsch. On May 22, 1957 she was united in marriage to Jerome Tauer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage they farmed in Sigel Township, Brown County until 1970 when they moved to New Ulm. Florence had worked at Shorty’s Bar, A.M.P.I. and the Backerei in New Ulm. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching TV, dancing, and going for walks. Florence was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls, and was a former member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.
