Janet E. Johnson
HANSKA – Janet E. Johnson, 69, of Hanska, died Monday, October 14, 2013 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, October 18, at the Nora Unitarian Universalist Church in Hanska with Reverend Lisa Doege officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisqua Cemetery in rural Hanska.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, SOUTH CHAPEL, in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Friday.

Janet is survived by her husband, Wayne D. Johnson of Hanska; daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie and Mike Lilleodden, Ellen and Tom Byro, all of Hanska; son, Greg Johnson of Hanska; grandchildren, Aaron and Jordan Lilleodden, Brandon Johnson, Erik and Sydney Byro; brother, Roger Pherson of Roseville; sister-in-law, Phyllis Johnson of Garden City; and many nieces; nephews; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harley and Hildegard Johnson; brother-in-law, Robert Johnson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Gene Urban.
Janet Ellen Pherson was born on April 22, 1944 in New Ulm to Clifford and Nina (Hanson) Pherson. She attended Madelia High School and graduated with the class of 1962. On February 10, 1962, Janet was united in marriage to Wayne D. Johnson at the Nora Unitarian Universalist Church in Hanska. Janet worked for many years as a bus driver for New Ulm Bus Lines. She also provided the elderly with home care. Janet enjoyed all animals, especially horses, going places with friends, and being with her grandkids. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Janet was a lifelong member of the Nora Unitarian Universalist Church in Hanska.
She will be dearly missed.
