COURTLAND – Greg Schwartz, 51, of Courtland, lost his battle to lung cancer after a valiant fight on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Mayo Health Systems in Mankato.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, November 9, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Nicollet with Deacon Steve Spilman officiating.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, SOUTH CHAPEL, in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Greg is survived by his wife, Ann, and their children, Jennifer and Stephen, all of Courtland; parents, Jean Metz of Victoria, Tom and Jo Schwartz of Woodbury; sister and brother-in-law, Dawn and Quay Richerson of Magnolia, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Todd and Laura Schwartz of Ramsey; step-sister, Susie Barker of St. Paul; aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; nephews; sisters-in-law; and brothers-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Gregory Bruce Schwartz was born on September 20, 1962 in Rush City to Tom and Jean (Martinco) Schwartz. Greg received a Bachelor of Science degree in Ag. Business from the U of M, St. Paul. On June 17, 1994, Greg was united in marriage to Ann Gretchen Kilibarda in Mankato. Most recently, Greg worked as a sales representative for Syngenta. Greg was a loving husband, father, son, and friend to many. He was an avid sportsman and all-around athlete. Greg was a tender lover of animals, a faithful child of God, and was always there to lend a hand to those in need. With an immense passion for life, Greg loved adventure, new experiences, and truly lived his life to the fullest. Greg was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Nicollet.
