Wabasso girls roll over WWG

Wabasso 71, W/WG 31

WABASSO – Chesley Guetter led Wabasso by scoring 26 points to lead the Rabbits past Westbrook/Walnut Grove Tuesday night in non-conference girls’ basketball action.

Morgan Frank, Larissa Rohlik and Becky Franta each scored nine points apiece for Wabasso.

Elizabeth Woebler led WWG, scoring 14 points.

Wabasso (2-0, 1-0) will play at New Ulm Cathedral Friday night.

Hutchinson 71,

New Ulm 27

HUTCHINSON- Hutchinson defeated New Ulm Tuesday night in a non-conference girls basketball game.

Brianna Sieve scored nine points for the Eagles while Hunter Ahlness and Kelsey Anderson each added five points apiece.

New Ulm (0-1) will host Sibley East Thursday night.

Springfield 57,

Sleepy Eye 42

SPRINGFIELD – Springfield beat Sleepy Eye Tuesday night in a Tomahawk Conference girls basketball game.

Josie Schieffert scored 19 points, had eight rebounds and five blocks for Sleepy Eye. Claire Krumbach added 13 points and six rebounds.

Amy Davis led Springfield with 15 points while Taylor Milbrath added 11 points. Theresa Roiger scored 10 points and she had 10 rebounds and Joeli Arnoldi had 12 assists.

Sleepy Eye (1-2) plays Wabasso (2-0) next Tuesday night. Springfield (1-0) hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Friday night.

CM/C 40, Cathedral 26

MORGAN – Cedar Mountain/Comfrey defeated New Ulm Cathedral in Tomahawk Conference girls basketball action Tuesday.

Courtney Nelsen led the Cougars with 14 points and six rebounds and Mikayla Cowell scored nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Andrea Ochs had six points and five steals.

New Ulm Cathedral was led by Kristen Mohr with eight points.

CM/C (1-0) is at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Fairfax.

Cathedral (0-1) hosts Wabasso at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
