SLEEPY EYE – Neil Eichten of Wabasso made a free throw to help the Rabbits edge Sleepy Eye on Tuesday night in a Tomahawk Conference boy’s basketball game.

Eichten led all scorers with 35 points. Tanner Bock scored 17 points, Matt Zeug had 12 points and Beau Taylor scored 10 points for Wabasso.

Brandon Polesky led Sleepy Eye with 30 points and nine rebounds. Juan Montemayer had 20 points and Spencer Weicherding added 10 points.

Sleepy Eye (4-1) will play cross-town rival Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s (2-1) on Friday night. Wabasso (4-1) will play at Fulda on Friday night.

GHEC 72, Madelia 59

EAST CHAIN – Madelia fell to Granada-Huntley-East Chain in a Valley Conference boy’s basketball game on Tuesday.

Derek Van Hee led Madelia with 15 points. Garrhough Dak added nine points.

Madelia (2-3, 0-2) plays again on Friday at home against Alden-Conger.

MVL 80, Springfield 69

SPRINGFIELD – Minnesota Valley Lutheran downed Springfield on Tuesday night in a Tomahawk Conference boy’s basketball game.

Tyler Vogel scored 28 points to lead Springfield. Cooper Scheffler scored 15 points and Carter Erickson scored 14 points.

Chad Lease led the Chargers with 22 points. Nick Dewanz scored 18 points and Seth Krolls finished with 11 points.

Springfield (2-3, 1-1) will play Cedar Mountain/Comfrey on Friday night in Morgan. MVL (1-3, 1-2) will play West Lutheran at MLC on Friday night.

BLHS 66, CM/C 63

HECTOR – Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart broke into the win colum as it edged Cedar Mountain/Comfrey in a Tomahawk Conference boy’s basketball game on Tuesday night.

Tate Lange led the Mustangs with 20 points. Kyle Kubesh added 19 points and Kyle Mellies had 10 points. Kubesh also had 15 rebounds.

Chandler Rose and Brady Kerkhoff each scored 15 points for CM/C. Javin Larsen scored 12 points

BLHS (1-2) hosts New Ulm Cathedral on Friday night. CM/C (1-3) plays at BOLD on Thursday night.
