Burton Lee Klitzke

Burton Lee Klitzke was born on October 11, 1951, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Alfred and Lavone (Baumgardt) Klitzke. Burt was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith at St Matthews Church in Fernando, Minnesota. He attended Stewart High School and graduated with the Class of 1969.

On April 22, 1972, Burt was united in marriage to Shirley Schmidt at St George Catholic Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two children, Brad and Mandy. Burt and Shirley raised their family in Glencoe, Minnesota and moved to Darwin, MN in 1998. They shared 41 years of marriage.

Burt spent 42 years in the Agriculture industry working with the Glencoe Co-op, Wacker Implement, Mueller Sales & Service and Jungclaus Implement. Burt was active in the Glencoe Fire Department, Relief Association and Knights of Columbus.

Burt’s biggest joys in his life involved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, socializing, telling and playing jokes. Burt especially cherished the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Burt will always be remembered as someone who is loving and caring. He passed away at the Hennepin County Medical Facility on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at the age of 62 years.

Burt is survived by his: Wife, Shirley Klitzke of Darwin, MN; Children, Brad Klitzke and his wife Nicole, of Chaska, MN, Amanda Quist and her husband, Scot, of Cleveland, MN; Grandchildren, Myah Klitzke, Hailey Klitzke, Owen Quist, Ella Quist; Nieces, Nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Burt is preceded in death by his Parents, Alfred and Lavone Klitzke; Sister Diane; Brother, Dean.

Memorial service will be Friday, December 20, 2013 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. with a service at 5:30 p.m. at the Glencoe City Center, Glencoe, MN.
