BCSD identifies farmhouse fatalities

BROWN COUNTY – The Brown County Sheriff’s Office released the names Saturday of the two men whose bodies were discovered Friday afternoon in a rural Springfield home.

The bodies of Nathan Scott Potter, 30, and Adam Lloyd Philip Jensen, 23, were found Friday afternoon in the farmhouse where they lived. The farm is owned by Dennis Potter, Nathan’s father, who discovered the bodies.

Dennis Potter called 9-1-1 at 1:40 p.m. after finding them unresponsive.

A?Sheriff’s Offfice press release said the deaths appear to have been caused by carbon monoxide poisoning. Autopsy results at the Mayo Health Care System, Mankato, are pending.

Brown County investigator Leah Krenz told the Associated Press it appears the furnace in the home may have been the source of the carbon monoxide.

The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by Springfield Police, Ambulance and Fire Department and the Sturm Funeral Home.
