Nicollet girls run past Cleveland, 53-30

NICOLLET – Nicollet defeated Cleveland Thursday night in a Valley Conference girl’s basketball game.

Emily Skrien led all scorers with 22 points for Nicollet.

Nicollet (1-6) will play tonight at Granada-Huntley-East Chain.

Fairmont 55, New Ulm 16

FAIRMONT – Fairmont crushed New Ulm Thursday night in a South Central Conference girl’s basketball game.

Kelsey Anderson led the Eagles with five points and Taylor Bolduan added four points.

New Ulm (1-9) will host Mankato East next Tuesday night.

SESM 52, New Ulm Cathedral 47

SLEEPY EYE – Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s edged New Ulm Cathedral Thursday night in a Tomahawk Conference girls basketball game.

Larissa Helget led the Knights with 28 points, six rebounds and two steals. Becka Schmitz added 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Anne Schwarz led New Ulm Cathedral with 13 points while Kristin Mohr added 11 points.

St. Mary’s (4-6, 2-4) hosts Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop next Tuesday night.

New Ulm Cathedral (5-3, 2-3) will play at Minnesota Valley Lutheran Monday night.

MVL 54, Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity 44

LESTER PRAIRIE- Minnesota Valley Lutheran defeated Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity in a nonconference girls basketball game Thursday.

MVL’s Alexa Alfred led the team with scoring 14 points and had six rebounds. Anna Munsen added 11 points and nine rebounds and Charlotte Pfingsten added 11 points.

Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity’s Courtney Scoblic scored 20 points.

MVL (7-1 overall, 4-0 in conference) will host Cedar Mountain/Comfrey today.

Sibley East 61, LSH 34

ARLINGTON – Sibley East defeated Lesueur/Henderson Thursday in a Minnesota River Conference basketball matchup.

McKenzie Sommers led Sibley East with 23 points adn 12 rebounds. Kim Kurtzweg and Megan Eckberg each scored seven points. Jess Garza added six points and seven steals. For LSH, Carlie Brandt scored 13 points and Steph Winter added seven points.

Sibley East (4-5 overall, 2-2 in conference) will play at Watertown Tuesday.

Springfield 56, GFW 47

FAIRFAX – Springfield defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thursday in a Tomahawk Conference girls’ basketball game.

Springfield’s Joeli Arnoldi scored 15 points and added five rebounds and five assists. Taylor Milbrath scored nine points and had seven rebounds while Jenny Thorson added seven points.

Halley Busse led GFW with 34 points and six assists. Emma Jo Elder added 10 rebounds.

GFW (2-6 overall, 1-4 in conference) will host Sleepy Eye today in Winthrop.

Springfield will host Wabasso today.
