SLEEPY EYE- Sleepy Eye picked up a win against Springfield in a Tomahawk girls basketball match up Friday.

Sleepy Eye’s Josie Schieffert scored 15 points, had 10 rebounds and five blocks. McKayla Alhrich added 13 points, while Claire Krumbach scored 11 points, had seven rebounds, five blocks, four steals, and four assists. Madison Heiderscheidt added 10 rebounds, three steals and four assists.

Springfield’s Joeli Arnoldi racked up 17 points.

Springfield (4-6 overall, 3-4 in conference) will play at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Tuesday.

Sleepy Eye (8-6 overall, 4-4 in conference) will play at New Ulm Cathedral today.

MVL 68, GFW 51

WINTHROP – Minnesota Valley Lutheran defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Friday in a Tomahawk conference girls match up.

MVL’s Anna Munsen scored 30 points and Nicole Moldstad added 16 points. Charlotte Pfingsten scored nine points.

For, GFW, Halley Busse scored 30 pointts and Alexis Jensen added seven points.

GFW (4-7 overall, 2-5 Tomahawk) will play at Cedar Mountain/Comfrey on Tuesday.

MVL will travel to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday.

St. Mary’s 58, BLHS 56

SLEEPY EYE – Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart in a Tomahawk Conference girls basketball match up Friday.

St. Mary’s Nikki Carr led with 16 points and three steals. Larissa Helget scored 15 points and had three steals. Becca Schmitz scored nine points and Sabrina Portner added eight points. Schmitz and Portner each added 11 rebounds.

For BLHS, Michelle Melsha scored 15 points. Erika Zanoth scored 11 points and Breanna Buboltz added 10 points.

St. Mary’s (5-7 overall, 3-5 in conference) will host Springfield Tuesday.

BLHS will travel to Minnesota Valley Lutheran Tuesday.
