SLEEPY EYE – Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s defeated Martin Luther Thursday night in a nonconference girl’s basketball game.

Larissa Helget scored 21 points for the Knights. Nikki Carr scored 12 points and Sabrina Portner also scored 12 points and she added 11 rebounds.

Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s (6-8) will play at 6 p.m. Saturday at Mankato Loyola.

Wabasso boys 69,

WABASSO – Wabasso defeated Sleepy Eye Thursday night in a Tomahawk Conference boy’s basketball game.

Neil Eichten led Wabasso with 34 points and Tanner Bock scored 21 points and grabbed 21 rebounds.

Brandon Polesky scored 23 points for Sleepy Eye.

Wabasso (9-6, 5-4) will play at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Monday.

Sleepy Eye (4-12, 2-7) will host Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Tuesday.

Madelia boys 64,

Nicollet 52

MADELIA – Madelia downed Nicollet Thursday night in a Valley Conference boy’s basketball game.

Jack Bergeman scored 24 points for Madelia. He scored 21 of the 24 points in the second half. Derrick Van Hee added 21 points.

Matt Christenson led Nicollet with 13 points while Matt Fischer and Colin Bloemke each scored 10 points.

Nicollet (7-6, 3-4) will host Mankato Loyola on Tuesday. Madelia (7-10, 4-5) will host Glenville-Emmons at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

BLHS girls 47, CM/C 39

HECTOR – Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart defeated Cedar Mountain/Comfrey Thursday night in a Tomahawk Conference girl’s basketball game.

Michelle Melsha led BLHS with 15 points and 22 rebounds. Kiana Johnson scored 12 points and she had 10 rebounds.

Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (2-9, 2-7) will host BOLD on Friday. Cedar Mountain/Comfrey (9-5, 6-5) will play at Springfield on Tuesday.
