New Ulm man charged with burglary, theft; in jail
ST. PETER – A New Ulm man has been charged in Nicollet County with 2nd degree burglary, two counts of theft and two counts of attempted theft in a series of thefts and burglaries in Lafayette and Brighton townships near New Ulm.
According to the complaint, Cody Lee Stark, 20, of New Ulm, was arrested on Jan. 21 after an investigation into five calls for theft and burglaries since Jan. 1, 2014.
According to the complaint, Stark was suspected in the theft of a laptop and a Kindle from the rural home of his mother in New Ulm. He is also suspected of stealing gasoline from the rural farm home of his grandparents. He was arrested near the rural residence of another family member where he was believed to be preparing to steal more gasoline.
Stark is currently being held in the Nicollet County Jail. According to the Nicollet County Sherriff’s office, other arrests have been made in the case and stolen items were recovered.
