MADELIA – New Ulm defeated Madelia-Truman/Martin Luther and Le Sueur-Henderson in a pair of nonconference meets on Friday night.

Sean Howk of New Ulm went 2-0 when he pinned Mike McLaughlin of M-T/ML. He won by a 6-4 decision against Le Sueur-Henderson at 106 pounds

Austin Brandes of New Ulm also was 2-0, pinning Jordan Osborne of M-T/ML and Jesse Kaelberer of Le Sueur-Henderson at 138 pounds.

Jagger Hoffmann pinned M-T/ML’s Zack Pettersen at 145 and won by decision against Le Sueur-Henderson.

Riley Shelgren went 2-0 by pinning M-T/ML’s Weston Ricard and LSH’s Mason Straub at 160 pounds.

Cole Wilfahrt of New Ulm won by forfeit against M-T/ML and by a 10-9 decision against Le Sueur-Henderson at 182 pounds.

New Ulm will be back in action on Feb. 8, when it will compete in the South Central Conference tournament in St. James.

MADELIA – Madelia defeated River Valley and Le Sueur-Henderson Friday night in a quadtrangular high school wrestling meet.

Jake Denn of M-T/ML was 3-0 for the night at 195. He won by a major decision over Lorenzo Hernandez of New Ulm by a score of 12-3. He pinned Clayton Colling of LSH at 1:43. Denn won by forfeit against River Valley.
