Cardinals run all over BOLD

Redwood Valley 99, BOLD 59

REDWOOD FALLS – Redwood Valley placed five players in double figures in its win against BOLD in a nonconference boy’s basketball game on Thursday night.

Thane Widmer led the Cardinals with 21 points. Cade Johnson scored 18 points and Sam Pendleton added 14. Taquez Perkins scored 13 points, while Mitchell Fischer had 12.

Redwood Valley (15-4, 7-2) will host Luverne on Friday.

St. Mary’s 70, BLHS 62

SLEEPY EYE – Peyton Adams scored 22 points to lead the Knights to a Tomahawk Conference win over Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Thursday night.

David Surprenant also turned in a big game for the Knights by scoring 21 points.

Kyle Kubesh led the Mustangs with 23 points while Tate Lange added 18.

St. Mary’s improves to 12-6 (9-5) and will host Cedar Mountain/Comfrey tonight. BLHS drops to 8-12 (6-8) and will play at Springfield tonight.

St. James 72, MCW 53

ST. JAMES – Zach Brandts led all scorers with 20 points as St. James rolled to a nonconference win over Martin County West on Thursday evening.

Walker Froehling scored 16 points and dished out eight assists for St. James, while John Olsen scored 13 and Ryan Menssen added 12 in the win.

MCW was led by Jake Faber with 14 points, while Alex Biehn and Jake Sinn each had 10 points.

St. James improves to 16-4 and will play at Fairmont tonight. MCW drops to 11-8 and will play next in its conference tournament.

Waseca 76, New Ulm 43

WASECA – The New Ulm boys basketball team failed to get its first South Central Conference victory in a loss at Waseca on Thursday evening.

Tyler Dittrich led the Eagles in scoring with 18 points. Jarin Spence added eight for the Eagles.

New Ulm drops to 3-18 (0-9) on the season and will play Monday at Norwood-Young America.
