NU gymnasts take third at SCC
ST. PETER – Martin County West won the South Central Conference Gymnastics meet Thursday night with a final score of 135.55. New Ulm finished in third place with an overall score of 133.1.
Emily Gulden, Michaela Howk, Molly Klimek and Allison Rosenhammer were named All-Confernece.
Martha Olson of Martin County West was first in the vault with a 9.175. Allison Rosenhammer was second with a 8.95. Michaela Howk and Rebekah Berry of St. Peter were tied for third place. Howk’s score was an 8.8.
Brianna Peterson of MCW was first in the bars with an 8.65. Howk finished fifth with an 8.05.
Howk was third on the beam with an 8.65 while Rosenhammer was fourth with an 8.475.
Berry of St. Peter finished first on the floor with a 9.75. Rosenhammer was second with a 9.15 and Ellie Hohensee of New Ulm was third with a 8.95.
MCW’s Peterson was first in the All-Around with a 35.3. Howk of New Ulm was fifth with a 33.8 and Klimek finished in sixth place with a 33.1.
New Ulm will now participate in the Section 2A Tournament to be held in Mankato next Friday to determine who will advance to the state tournament.
