NEW ULM – William Ratcliff, 71, of New Ulm died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at the Swan Lake Lutheran Church in Brighton Township, Nicollet County with Pastor Scott Jakel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military honors being conducted by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday and 7:30- 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Monday. To leave an online condolence for his family or to sign the guestbook go to: www.mvfh.org.
William is survived by his life partner, Andrea Erickson of New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and James Allen of Valdosta, Ga.; grandson, James Allen, Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Terry and Jerry Howard of Myrtle Creek, Ore.; brothers and sister-in-law, Leslie Ratcliff of Mankato, Steve and Colleen Ratcliff of New Ulm; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Tana Ratcliff.
William Henry Ratcliff was born on Feb. 24, 1942 in Mankato to Earl and Joyce (Evenson) Ratcliff. He served in the U.S. Airforce from 1960 to 1964. William worked at 3M in New Ulm for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, traveling and raising deer. William was a member of Swan Lake Lutheran Church.
