MVL girls 77, LCWM 31

NEW ULM – Minnesota Valley Lutheran crushed Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial on Monday night in a nonconference girl’s basketball game.

Anna Munsen led MVL with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Alexa Alfred scored 15 points and Nicole Moldstad added 10 points.

MVL (12-7, 7-5) will play Cedar Mountain/Comfrey in Morgan tonight.

Sleepy Eye boys 78,

RRC 60

SLEEPY EYE – Sleepy Eye defeated Red Rock Central in nonconference boy’s basketball on Monday.

Brandon Polesky led the Indians with 27 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Juan Montemayor had 14 points and three steals and Austin Trebesch also had 14 points.

Tom Bloomgren led the Falcons with 12 points.

Sleepy Eye (7-13) plays at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday against Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop in Fairfax. RRC hosts Murray County Central on Tuesday.

GFW boys 61,

Springfield 60

SPRINGFIELD – Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop edged Springfield in a Tomahawk Conference boy’s basketball game on Monday night.

Tyler Vogel scored 25 points for Springfield. Cooper Scheffler scored 20 points.

Seth Schutte led GFW with 18 points while Jack Bussler and Nolan Huiras each added 10 points.

Springfield (8-10, 7-5) will host Wabasso on Tuesday. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will host Sleepy Eye in Fairfax on Tuesday.

New Ulm boys 61,

NYA 60

NORWOOD YOUNG AMERICA – Jackson Yackley made a free throw with 1.6 seconds left in the game to give New Ulm a win over Norwood Young America in a nonconference boy’s basketball game on Monday night.

Tyler Dittrich led the Eagles with 16 points. Tanner Kluis and Yackley each scored 11 points.

New Ulm (4-15) will play at St. Peter on Tuesday night.

BLHS girls 52, ACGC 40

HECTOR – Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart defeated Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City in nonconference girls basektball action on Monday.

Michelle Melsha led the Mustangs with 18 points and Hannah VanderVoort finished with 14 points.

BLHS hosts Madelia on Tuesday.

T/ML 68 boys, Madelia 46

TRUMAN – Truman/Martin Luther hit 10 3-pointers and defeated Madelia in Valley Conference boy’s basketball on Monday.

Derrick VanHee had 15 points to lead Madelia, including 5 3-pointers. Jack Bergemann scored nine points for Madelia.

The Blackhawks (7-15) host Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton on Thursday.

CM/C girls 51, RRC 43

MORGAN – Cedar Mountain/Comfrey defeated Red Rock Central in nonconference girl’s basketball on Monday.

The Cougars led 27-24 at halftime and were led by Brianna Lund, who finished with 11 points and three blocks. Courtney Nelsen had 10 points and Paige Richert had seven rebounds and three points. Andrea Ochs had nine points and eight assists.

Melanie Kedl led the Falcons with 14 points and nine rebounds and Taylor Price finished with 13 points.

RRC is at Mountain Lake Area on Thursday and CM/C (11-7, 7-7 Tomahawk) hosts Minnesota Valley Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Morgan.
