GIBBON – Marie Boeder, 94, of Gibbon died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center in Winthrop.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Moltke Township, Sibley County, with Pastor Benjamin Rucker officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Marie is survived by her stepson, Wilmer Boeder and his special friend, Vernetta Brinkman of rural Gibbon; stepgranddaughter, Stephanie (Wayne) Lais; stepgreat-granddaughter, Jessica; sister, Leona Rose of Gaylord; special friends, Loretta Jaus and Nancy Spaude; and many more relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin Boeder on May 28, 1990; stepdaughter, Muriel Briese in 1990 and her husband, Robert; brother, Fred Sievert; sisters, Gertrude Sievert, Dora Severin, Emma Siemers; brothers-in-law, Emil Siemers, Burnel Severin, Reinhart Rose; foster brothers and their wives, John (Ruth) Micke, Alfred (Julia) Micke, and August (Muriel) Micke.
Marie Amanda Sievert was born on April 21, 1919 in New Ulm to Fred and Laura (Vorwerk) Sievert. On May 4, 1919 Marie was baptized by Pastor C.G. Seltz and renewed her faith by being confirmed on April 9, 1933 by Pastor C.H. Lueker at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Memory verse – Isaiah 54:10 “For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.” She attended St. Peter’s Lutheran School in Moltke Township, Sibley County from kindergarten through the 8th grade. On June 25, 1976, Marie was united in marriage to Edwin Boeder at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Moltke Township. She worked at Goodman’s Produce for 16 years and also decorated cakes. Marie lived in Moltke Township until September 2013 when she moved to the Good Samaritan Home in Winthrop. Flowers, gardening, baking cookies, and spending time in the great outdoors were her favorite pastimes. She was a life-long member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and the Lutheran Laymen’s League.
