Owatonna – Elmira Ubl, 91, of Owatonna died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
Graveside service will be 11 AM Monday, February 17, at the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm with Monsignor John A. Richter officiating.
The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.

Elmira is survived by her daughters, Elvera “Corky” (Darrell) Nelson of Ellendale, Elverna Eckhardt of Edina, Elana Wesely of Owatonna; a son, Steve Ubl of San Diego, California; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great- great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldor; a son, Eldon; three granddaughters; one great grandson; and by brothers, Marvin, Andrew and Ralph Hofmeister.
Elmira Bertha Hofmeister was born December 31, 1922 in New Ulm to Edwin J. and Frances (Bauer) Hofmeister; She was a 1940 graduate of New Ulm High School. Elmira was united in marriage to Eldor Ubl on January 18, 1945 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage they farmed near New Ulm for 5 years. They moved to Owatonna in 1960 where they owned and operated Ubl’s Shoe Repair and Leather Goods. Elmira enjoyed crocheting, sewing, baking and gardening. She was also very involved with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren and their activities.
