Dinner theater at Grand on Feb. 28 and March 1
NEW ULM – A tradition of ‘WhoDunit’ dinner theater returns to The Grand Kabaret during New Ulm’s Bock Fest on Friday, Feb. 28 and Saturday, March 1.
NUACT will present “Murder at BockFest II: To Kill for Dandelion Beer,” a humorous murder mystery written and hosted by Paul Warshauer.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the dinner/show starting at 6:30 p.m. The Kabaret is located at 210 N. Minnesota St., New Ulm.
The story centers on the”trouble”?brewing at the fictitious Smaehls Brewery. The owner wants to introduce a new Dande-Lion Beer, but others are against it. The show stars Mark Santelman, Jodi Poehler, Kerry Hoffman, Danica Scharlemann, Paul Henning and Jonathan Warling.
Audience members listen for clues and go upstairs to watch some scenes in the newly remodeled Grand Center for the Arts. At the end of the evening they vote for their “WhoDunit!” The ending is revealed, and a prize is given to the winning table.
Seating is extremely limited. Tickets are sold online at www.newulmact.com, or by calling NUACT’s office at 507-359-9990. For special needs or groups call Keara Roberts at 507-995-6589.
A three-course meal will be served during the play. The menu includes a quinoa salad, chicken pesto pasta, roasted organic chicken in a garlic and white wine cream sauce, accented with aromatic pesto and grated parmesan cheese, and dessert selected by the chef.
