Pfaff, Carlson receive MSHSL?AAA award for CHS
NEW?ULM – Cathedral High School has selected Barrett Carlson and Karlee Pfaff for the Minnesota State High School League AAA Award.
They will represent themselves and CHS at the Minnesota State High School League’s Subsection level. Each MSHSL member school is allowed to present this award to one female and one male from the senior class. To be eligible, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, participate in league-sponsored athletics and fine arts activities, and comply with the MSHSL’s Student Code of Conduct.
Carlson’s school activities include National Honor Society, Knowledge Bowl, and school Mass server. He has participated in football, track, basketball, cross country and band. He is involved in the New Ulm community as a lifeguard, youth sports coach, and Boy Scout. Some of his volunteer activities include the United Way, park maintenance and church volunteer. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and received the ExCel Award in 2013. He is the son of Steve and Kara Carlson of New Ulm.
Pfaff’s school activities include National Honor Society, theater and band. She has participated in volleyball, basketball and softball. She volunteers for fundraising efforts at the school and her parish. She volunteers at summer sports camps for youth. Other community involvement includes taking part in United Way Days of Caring and the United Way’s Day of Play. She is the daughter of Todd and Kelly Pfaff of New Ulm.
