MADELIA – Sleepy Eye downed Madelia Tuesday night in a nonconference girl’s basketball game.

Claire Krumbach scored 19 points, had eight rebounds and three steals to lead Sleepy Eye. Justine Gonzalez added 18 points and she had four steals. Josie Schieffert scored 13 points.

Cinthia Sotelo led Madelia with 19 points.

Sleepy Eye (15-9) will host Redwood Valley on Friday. Madelia will play at Mountain Lake Area on Thursday.

Windom Area 76,

Springfield 73

WINDOM – Windom’s Rachel Sorensen scored 30 points to lead the Eagles past Springfield in a nonconference girl’s basketball game on Tuesday night.

Therese Roiger led the Tigers with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Taylor Milbrath added 17 points and 10 rebounds. Joeli Arnoldi scored 15 points and 11 assists.

Kelsey Hanefeld added 19 points for Windom Area.

Springfield (11-11, 9-6) will host St. Clair on Saturday night.

MVL 58, GFW 39

NEW ULM – The Minnesota Valley Lutheran girls basketball notched its 10th Tomahawk Conference win of the season with a victory over Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Tuesday night.

Anna Munsen scored 14 points to lead the Chargers. Charlotte Pfingsten scored 13 and Johanna Kettner added 12 for MVL.

Halley Busse led the Thunderbirds with 15 points.

MVL is now 15-7 (10-5) and travels to Martin County West on Friday. GFW drops to 7-17 (3-13) and hosts LeSueur-Henderson on Monday.

BLHS 55, SESM 45

HECTOR – Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart downed Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s in a Tomahawk Conference girl’s basketball game on Tuesday night.

Michelle Melsha scored 18 points to lead BLHS. Erica Zanoth added 12 points and 13 rebounds.

BLHS (6-16, 4-11) will host Central Minnesota Christian on Friday night. St. Mary’s will host Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman.
