41 Annual Polkatown Market Hog Show held at Brown County Fairgrounds
NEW ULM–The Youth Coliseum at the Brown County Fairgrounds went hog-wild Saturday, as it hosted the 41 Annual Polkatown Market Hog Show.
This year featured five hog classes, with three barrow classes and two gilt classes.
Dan and Lynn Hacker have been helping run the Hog show for several years.
Lynn commented that she has memories going back to the first show.
“It’s a good event for the kids, and it is good practice for those who go on to compete at the State level,” said Lynn.
The gilt champion was Linda Diischer, and Brenden Kimpe took reserve champion.
The barrow champion was Rae-Lynn Meitner, with Olivia Hammer taking reserve champion. The barrow champions ultimately took the top prize as well. Meitner received overall grand champion, and Hammer took reserve grand champion.
In the junior showman competition, Brenden Kimpe received to top honor, with Isabelle Kimpe taking second place.
