Courtland to compensate frozen pipe costs
COURTLAND – The Courtland City Council approved a resolution March 6 to compensate residents for frozen water pipe costs this winter.
City water users who ran their water to prevent frozen pipes may be eligible for a credit if they notify the City which will then compare water usage in the first quarter of 2014 to first quarter 2013.
Courtland Maintenance Supervisor Doug Gulden said he would visit all residences north of U.S. Highway 14, where frozen pipes were reported, by Saturday, March 8.
The city council approved a resolution to pay 50 percent of frozen pipe repair costs that occurred prior to March 8, not to exceed $250.
