Gilbert “Gil” Rademacher

NEW ULM – Gilbert “Gil” Rademacher, 67, of New Ulm died Monday, March 10, 2014 at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 15 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Father Germain P. Rademacher celebrating the Mass. Interment will be held at the columbarium in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday and 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. To leave an online condolence for his family or to sign the guestbook go to:

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Elaine Rademacher of New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Kristina and Jim Mattecheck and their children, Alexandra and Winston, Angela Rademacher and Carel Kotze and their children, Clara and Vincent, Suzanne Rademacher all of Portland, Ore.; sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Morrie Hoffmann of Maplewood; brothers and sisters-in-law, Father Germain Rademacher of New Ulm, Richard and Margarita Rademacher of Raytown, Mo., Val and Julie Rademacher of Milbank, S.D., Tom and Jeanne Rademacher of Rosen, Kevin and Peggy Rademacher of Rosen, Mark and Cindy Rademacher of St. Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Lawrence, Myron and Gregory Rademacher.

Gilbert Anton Rademacher was born on Nov. 24, 1946 in Ortonville to Marcus and Clara (Lanners) Rademacher. On Jan. 15, 1972 he was united in marriage to Elaine Adelman in Rosen. Gilbert worked for New Ulm Motors and later for Heymann Construction in New Ulm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, golfing, and woodworking. Gilbert was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm and the St. Patrick’s Council 1076 Knights of Columbus in New Ulm.
