Drivers made way for ambulance

To the editor:

It should come as no surprise to hear that New Ulm drivers have their own rules. There seems to be no rhyme or reason most days to the way people in this town drive, and if you’ve grown up here you just accept it and drive defensively. But I was very pleasantly surprised this morning when I was driving to work and saw an ambulance in my rear view mirror. EVERY SINGLE car on Broadway pulled over and came to a stop to allow that ambulance to speed by on their way to someone in need. It made my heart so happy to see such a quick and correct response by our drivers on the road. Every minute counts when someone is in need of life saving and such a simple action can be the difference between life and death. So congratulations New Ulm drivers on being so quick to help those in need!
