Vernie Lange, age 93, of Lamberton, MN died on March 19, 2014, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm, MN.
Service will be held at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lamberton, MN on Monday, March 24, at 10:30 a.m.
The clergy will be Pastor Allen Brakke. Interment will be at the Lamberton Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 23, from 2-5 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton Chapel and will continue on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lamberton, MN.

Vernie Eldora Lange was born on November 15, 1920, in Waterbury Township, Redwood County, the daughter of John and Sievie (Raveling) Arends. She attended country school District 78 in Waterbury Township and helped her family on the family farm northwest of Lamberton. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. Vernie was united in marriage to Mike G. Lange on March 15, 1938 and celebrated 55 years of marriage. The couple farmed together in Waterbury Township. She enjoyed tending a large garden, canning, baking, sewing, needle work, embroidery, with her focus always on her family. Vernie was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lamberton where she served on the Ladies Aid and funeral committee, Extension Club, and was a dedicated blood donor.
She was survived by her children, Donald (Jane) Lange of Idaho Falls, ID; Eldonna (Thomas) Brey of New Ulm, MN; and Duane Lange of Andover, MN; grandchildren, Mike (Stephanie) Lange, Nicole (Larry) Pratt, Gregory (Candace) Brey, Debra (Daniel) Schmidt, Lorie (special friend Jessie Jewell) Brey, Robert Lange, and Karisma Lange; great grandchildren – Hayden and Chase Pratt; Kaitlyn, Koller, and Courtney Lange; Isabella and Elijah Brey; and Aaron and Anna Schmidt; a sister, Arlene (Bruce) Wetter of Lamberton, MN; and sisters-in-law, Mildred Arends of New Hope, MN and Arleen Lange of Redwood Falls, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Marvin Arends and Roland Arends.
