NEW ULM – Katherine Runck, 71, of New Ulm died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Grant Bode officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Monday.

Katherine is survived by her daughters, Christine Smith of New Ulm, Gayle (Kalin) Gillard of Tonopah, Nev.; sons, Dave (Caryl) Runck of New Ulm, Dean (Jodi) Runck of Courtland; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Renee Schilman of Eagan, Susan (Dennis) Jacobs, Janet (Mike) Dalluge, Julia (Jerry) Rieger, all of New Ulm; and a sister-in-law, Diane Konakowitz of Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Runck; brothers, Gerald (Jackie) Schroeder, Thomas Konakowitz; a niece, Erica Rieger; and a nephew, Michel Rieger; brother-in-law, Orville Schilman.
Katherine Ruth Schroeder was born Oct. 22, 1942 in New Ulm. She was a 1960 graduate of New Ulm High School. Katherine was united in marriage to Charles Runck on Nov. 18, 1961 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm. After marriage they lived in New Ulm where she was employed at State Bank and Trust and the Oak Hills Living Center. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, baking and cooking. She loved spending time with her family.
Katherine was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
