FRANKLIN – Dave Nack, age 65, of rural Franklin, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014, at his home in Franklin.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 3, 2014, 11 A.M. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax with Pastor Scott Muske officiating. Interment will be in Ft. Ridgley Cemetery, Ridgely Township, Nicollet County, MN.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 2, 2014, from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Memorials preferred to WELS Prison Ministries, Prairie Lutheran School or St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church.
David Arthur Nack was born on June 14, 1948, in Alexandria, MN. He was the son of Daniel and Verna (Carlson) Nack. He became a child of God through baptism June 27, 1948. He attended grade school at Zion Lutheran in Alexandria. He attended Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato and Doctor Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN.
Dave emergency taught one year at Bethel Lutheran in Bay City, MI, where he met his wife, Char Geiger. They were blessed with 42 years of marriage and three children.
After graduating, he was assigned to be Principal, teacher, organist and Choir director at St. John in Fairfax. He served the Lord in that position for 27 years. He then served as administrator for the WELS Prison Ministry from 2000-2014. He also worked with Jail Ministry. He worked closely with the Jesus Cares Ministry and took on the position of OWLS Director in 2014. He enjoyed mentoring principals and many people.
Dave was a humble caring child of God, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. Dave loved nature and it showed in his vision of wood working. He loved the lake, water skiing, fishing and hunting. Most of all he loved people and he will be missed by all who loved him. Blessed be his memory.
Dave is survived by his wife, Char Nack of Franklin, MN; sons, Daniel Nack of Fairfax, MN, and John Nack and his wife, Abby of Rice, MN; granddaughter, Valerie Nack of Rice, MN; other relatives and many friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter.
