Tigers blank MVL in Tomahawk

SPRINGFIELD – Springfield shut out Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Monday in a Tomahawk Conference baseball game.

Cooper Scheffler pitched six innings for the Tigers to earn the win. He gave up two hits and he struck out seven batters.

Scheffler was 3-for-3 from the plate with a walk, he scored two runs and he had a triple. Jevan Richert had two hits and Dylan Wersal had a hit and two RBIs.

Nick DeWanz was the losing pitcher for MVL. He pitched five innings, gave up eight hits and eight runs.

Jake Mielke and Noah Edwards each had one hit for the Chargers.

Springfield (1-0) will host Sleepy Eye at 4:30 p.m. today.

MVL will host Wabasso at 5 p.m. Thursday at Mueller Park.
