Police seek input on man who tried in entice girl into car

NEW ULM – Police received a report about a suspicious person who tried to pick up a 14-year-old girl near the corner of Broadway and First North Street at 8 p.m. Sunday.

The suspect told the girl that it was late and her parents sent him to pick her up and take her home. The girl refused the ride, later talked to her parents who verified they never sent anyone to pick her up and contacted police, according to a New Ulm Police Department news release.

The suspect was described as a male in his late 20s or early 30s with short, dark brown hair, possibly Caucasian with a darker complexion or Hispanic with a lighter complexion. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a newer, black four-door, unknown make, model or license plate, according to the news release.
