SPRINGFIELD – Springfield defeated Sleepy Eye on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference baseball game.

Dylan Wersal was the winning pitcher for Springfield as he went seven innings, gave up four hits and struck out five batters.

Sam Baier went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored for the Tigers. Cooper Scheffler was 1-for-3 with a triple and one run scored.

Brandon Polesky led Sleepy Eye going 2-for-4.

Springfield (2-0) will host Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Sleepy Eye (0-1) will host Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop at 5 p.m. Thursday.
