PREP SOFTBALL: Indians beat Thunderbirds

Sleepy Eye 4, GFW 1

SLEEPY EYE – Sleepy Eye downed Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Thursday in a Tomahawk Conference softball game.

McKayla Ahlrich earned the win by pitching 4 1/3 innings. She gave up two hits, struck out seven batters and walked two.

Erin McDurmont pitched a complete game in the loss. She gave up four runs, three hits, struck out nine batters and walked seven.

Jamie Wells was 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored, while Carly Jensen was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored for Sleepy Eye.

Lindsey Miller went 1-for-3 for GFW with a double. Jessica Bode was 1-for-3 and a run scored.

Wabasso 10, MVL 3

WABASSO – Wabasso defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran 10-3 in Tomahawk Conference softball on Thursday.

Callie Rohlik went the distance in the circle for the Rabbits, giving up three runs on five hits with seven strikeouts.

Morgan Frank led the Rabbits (1-2, 1-2 Tomahawk) at the plate with four RBIs on a 3-for-4 performance. Shelby Taylor went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, while Rohlik went 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Karissa Schlottman was the losing pitcher for the Chargers (0-2, 0-2), giving up 10 runs on 13 hits. Charlotte Pfingsten led the Chargers at the plate with a 3-for-4 performance.
