PREP GOLF: Mustangs win boy’s triangular

BUFFALO LAKE- Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart defeated Wabasso and Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Thursday in a triangular Tomahawk Conference golf meet.

BLHS had a team score of 193 while Wabasso finished second with a 224.

Jack Broderius of BLHS was the medalist with a score of 42. Ryan Heinrichs of St. Mary’s was runner-up with a 45.

For BLHS Kyle Mellies shot 48 while Alex Girodat finished with a 50.

Chase Haase had the best score for Wabasso with a 50. Conner Hubnerkock was next for the Rabbits with a 55.

On the girl’s side, Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart’s Alesha Paulsen took home medalist honors with a 53 in the triangular.

Also competing for BLHS was Mariah Paulson and Carley Klabunde, who shot 58 and 71.

Anna Miller fired a 55 for Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s, while Alyssa Rubey shot a 59, and Sarah Surprenant added a 70 for the Knights.

Wabasso was led by Sidney Pritzl with a 71, and Jenna Hendrickson with 74.

Mankato East 418, New Ulm 451

MANKATO – Mankato East girl’s golf beat New Ulm on Thursday.

Corrine McKeeth was the medalist with a 93, while Tasha Holm shot 111, Julia Schaefer 123 and Emily Bertrang 124.
