Cathederal girls win home meet

NEW ULM – New Ulm Cathedral’s girls defeated Cedar Mountain and Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s in a Tomahawk Conference golf triangular on Tuesday.

Courtney Nelsen, the lone Cedar Mt. golfer, medaled with a 45.

Ellie Dittrich and Grace Gillis each shot a 52 to lead the Greyhounds.

Anna Miller (60) and Leah Schneider (62) were the top golfers for St. Mary’s.

Ryan Heinrichs shot a 43 to medal for the boys and help earn a St. Mary’s victory. Lucas Heiderscheidt added a 46 for the Knights.

Tristin Pietig (44) and Josh Green (50) led the Cougars, while Jack Wenner (49) and Hunter Bode (52) were the top golfers for Cathedral.

All three teams golf on Monday in the Tomahawk Conference meet in New Ulm.

Redwood Valley girls 256, RRC Incomplete

SANBORN – Redwood Valley’s golf teams completed a sweep of Red Rock Central on Tuesday.

Redwood Valley’s Mackenzie Mace medaled for the girls with a 52. Mackenzie Manthei shot a 63.

Courtney Teveldal (59) and Maria Johnson (62) led Red Rock Central.

Redwood Valley’s Mitch Fischer was the boys’ medalist with a 39. His teammate, Adam Hengel, finished four strokes behind him with a 43.

Zach Kircher (48) and Carter Engen (51) led the RRC boys.

Redwood Valley competes again on Thursday at Luverne, while Red Rock Central hosts Westbrook/Walnut Grove on Thursday.

BLHS boys 186, Springfield 197, Sleepy Eye 204

SPRINGFIELD – Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart won the Tomahawk Conference boy’s golf triangular while Springfield won the girl’s meet on Tuesday in Springfield.

Jack Broderius of BLHS was the medalist with a score of 41. Kale Meendering of Springfield shot a 45 while Noah Betram of Springfield finished with a 47. Ben Laffen and Matt Miller of Sleepy Eye finished with scores of 48 and 49 respectively.

Lauren Laffen of Sleepy Eye was the girl’s medalist with a 45. Karrah Remus of Sleepy Eye shot a 46. Jena Roiger of Springfield shot a 52 and Amanda Rogotzke of Springfield finished with a 52.

All three teams will participate in the Tomahawk Conference meet at 10 a.m. on Monday at the New Ulm Country Club.

Madelia 184 boys, MVL 212, LCWM 212

LCWM 234 girls, Madelia 249, MVL 269

MADELIA – Madelia won the nonconference boy’s golf meet while Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial won the girls golf meet in a triangular meet on Tuesday.

Jordan Henry of Madelia was the medialist with a score of 38. Zach Baumgartner of Madelia finished with a 44. Jacob Grunewald of Minnesota Valley Lutheran finished in third place with a 46.

Damon Schmalzriedt of Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial was fourth with a 47 and Paul Gullixson of MVL was fifth with a score of 50

On the girl’s side, Kia Ruch of LCWM was the medialist with a 48. Carina Aguilar of Madelia was second with a 53. LCWM’s Izzy Sullivan was third with a 55. Madelia’s Victoria Pietsch was fourth with a 56 and Katylyn Hardtke of MVL was fifth with a 57. Sarah Hinderman of MVL scored a 67.

MVL’s next meet will be on Monday when it competes in the Tomahawk Conference meet at New Ulm Country Club in New Ulm. Madelia will host St. James on Thursday.
