Tippi Hedren to speak in New Ulm May 1

NEW ULM – Actress and animal rights activist Tippi Hedren is coming to New Ulm to share her stories and experiences on Thursday, May 1 at 7 p.m.

Hedren, who was born in New Ulm and grew up in Lafayette, will be speaking as part of the Storytellers series sponsored by Traverse Des Sioux Library Cooperative at the District Administrative Center Auditorium, 15 N. State St.

From starring in two Alfred Hitchcock films, “The Birds” (1963) and “Marnie” (1964), to founding The Roar Foundation, supporting The Shambala Preserve in California in 1983, Hedren has some fascinating stories to share. After her talk, Hedren will be available to sign autographs.

This event, is open to the public and free of charge. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Storytellers is presented by the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative and funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
