NEW ULM – The New Ulm boy’s golf team defeated Fairmont in South Central Conference action at New Ulm Country Club.

Kelton Schmitz led New Ulm with a 37 and Ethan Kraus shot a 39. Colin Huffman shot a 41 while Matt Saffert and Tanner Zupfer each shot a 42.

New Ulm is at the Glencoe-Silver Lake Invite on Monday.

New Ulm girls compete

NEW ULM – The New Ulm girl’s competed on Thursday against Fairmont. Team scores were not submitted.

New Ulm’s Corinne McKeeth led the Eagles with a 48 and Julia Schaefer shot a 53. Kendra Clyne (59) and Taylor Syverson (62) rounded out the scoring for the Eagles.

New Ulm competes at the GSL Invite on Monday.

JWP boys 177, Madelia 190, Maple River 221

St. James girls 235, Madelia 251

MADELIA – Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton won a Valley Conference boy’s golf meet at Madelia Golf Club on Thursday with a team score of 177.

Maple River’s Brandon Sohre was the medalist with a 40. Madelia’s Jordan Hendry was second overall with a 41 and Zach Baumgartner (48), Matt Baumgartner (50) and Chris Cedilla (51) also figured into Madelia’s scoring.

On the girl’s side, St. James’ Lyndsey Haler was the medalist with a 49. Teammates Sophie Lepp (60), Lil Krause (61) and Kristin Leimer (65) figured into St. James’ scoring.

For Madelia, Victoria Pietsch (58), Ellie Davis (59), Carina Aguilar (62) and Allyson Missling (72) led the way for Madelia.
