Sleepy Eye FFA attends Region Awards Banquet

WESTBROOK – On Monday, April 14th, 13 Sleepy Eye FFA members traveled to Westbrook on April 14 for the Region 6 FFA Awards Banquet.

Several members were recognized for their accomplishments and Matthew Miller was officially inducted into the 2014-2015 Region Officer Team as treasurer. Also, taking place was the retirement of the current Region Officer Team, including Tiffany Ludewig as Sentinel.

The Region VI Proficiency winners this year from Sleepy Eye included: Tanisha Goblirsch (Agricultural Sales Placement), Sabrina Portner (Dairy Production Entrepreneurship), Cassidy Hacker (Diversified Livestock Production), Kolten Nienhaus (Poultry Production), Tia Cselovszki (Equine Science Entrepreneurship), Jake Trebesch (Beef Production Entrepreneurship), and Josh Kotten (Diversified Ag Production). Emily Kjelshus (Agricultural Services), Brandon Roiger (Agricultural Education), and Brandon Kral (Specialty Animal Production).

In Career Development Events, the Best Informed Greenhand Team of Courtney Engholm, Cassidy Hacker and Tyrah Stoll were rewarded for earning first place and Courtney was recognized as the first place individual. The Dairy Evaluation CDE of Mary Rosenhammer, Isabella Portner, Sabrina Portner, and Bethany Seifert were rewarded for earning first place and Mary was awarded as the first place individual. In the Floriculture CDE, Kacie Goblirsch was awarded as the first place individual. Mary Rosenhammer was also recognized as the Region Star in Ag. Placement. From Sleepy Eye, Bethany Seifert sang and played piano in the talent contest.
