Tigers roll over Chargers, CHS wins

Springfield 11, MVL 1

SPRINGFIELD-Springfield defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran in a Tomahawk Conference softball game Monday.

Molly Dunn earned the win. She pitched six innings and giving up one run, three hits and striking out 12 batters. Springfield’s Sonja Fiedler went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored. Bridget Fenger went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Taylor Milbrath had two RBIs.

For MVL, Karissa Schlottman took the loss pitching six innings, giving up 11 runs and 12 hits. Charlotte Pfingsten had one hit and Jordan Marotz added a double and a stolen base.

Springfield (3-3) will play at Redwood Valley on Tuesday.

MVL will host Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Tuesday.

Cathedral 9, Wabasso 2

WABASSO – New Ulm Cathedral defeated Wabasso on Monday in a Tomahawk Conference softball game.

Anna Mohr was the winning pitcher going four innings. She gave up two runs, walked two and struck out five.

Morgan Frank went 2-for-3 for the Rabbits. Lindsay Simon went 3-for-4 for the Greyhounds with two RBIs.

Callie Rohlik took the loss. She gave up seven hits in seven innings and walked nine. She struck out five.

New Ulm Cathedral (6-1, 4-0) will play at Sleepy Eye on Thursday in a double-header.

GFW 6, St. Mary’s 1

SLEEPY EYE – Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop defeated Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Monday in a Tomahawk Conference softball game.

Erin McDurmont was the winning pitcher for GFW, going seven innings, giving up one run and no hits. She walked five and struck out nine.

Laura Pelzel was the losing pitcher. She pitched seven innings, gave up six runs (four earned), 10 hits, one walk and struck out 12.

McDurmont went 2-for-4 with one run scored with two RBIs.

Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s (2-1) will play Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday. GFW will host Minnesota Valley Lutheran in Fairfax on Tuesday.

Sleepy Eye 41, C/CM 1,

COMFREY – Sleepy Eye defeated Comfrey/Cedar Mountain 41-1 in five innings in a Tomahawk Conference softball game on Monday.

Kalyn Haas got the win for the Indians, striking out 10 batters in five innings pitched.

McKayla Ahlrich went 6-for-8 with seven RBIs and three triples. Jamie Wells went 6-for-8 with seven RBIs with a triple, while Jamie Fischer went 4-for-8 with a home run.

Cassidy Gode got the loss for the Rockets in three innings of work. Whitney Trebesch got the Rockets’ lone hit in a 1-for-2 performance.

C/CM will play at doubleheader on Thursday at Springfield. Sleepy Eye will host New Ulm Cathedral for a doubleheader on Thursday.
