New Ulm Boys Win Home Invitational

NEW ULM – The New Ulm boys’ golf team won its home golf invitational at New Ulm Country Club by shooting a combined 307 on Thursday

New Ulm’s Tanner Zupfer was the medalist with a 74. Kelton Schmitz (76), Colin Huffman (78), and Peder Johnson (79) all turned in strong performances for the Eagles as well.

The New Ulm girls also competed and turned in a team score of 476. Julia Schaefer led the way with a 105. Emily Bertrang (119), Kendra Clyne (124) and Taylor Syverson (128) also golfed for the Eagles.

New Ulm will host Marshall on Monday.

Madelia 175, Alden-Conger 192, Mountain Lake 217 (boys)

Alden-Conger 237, Madelia 243, Mountain Lake Incomp (girls)

MADELIA – Madelia won the boy’s golf meet while Alden-Conger won the girls golf meet on Thursday.

Jordan Henry of Madelia and Eli Hallman of Alden-Conger tied for medalist when they carded a 39.

Zach Baumgartner scored a 45, Riley Benzel had a 48 and Matt Baumgartner finished with a 45 for Madelia.

Victoria Pietsch of Madelia and Desirae Heideman of Alden-Conger each scored a 55 for the medalist spot.

Carina Aguilar carded a 62 for Madelia. Kiara McClung had a 79.

Madelia’s next meet will be at Martin County West today.
