Mustangs hold on to beat Chargers

BLHS 11, MVL 8

NEW ULM – Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart edged Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Thursday in a high school baseball game.

Tate Lange was the winning pitcher for BLHS as he went five innings. He gave up three runs, four hits, he struck out three and he walked two batters.

Josh Swanson went 2-for-3 for BLHS and he had a double. Austin Krippner was 2-for-4.

For MVL, Nick Fisher went 4 1/3 innings in the loss. He gave up seven runs, six hits and he struck out five and walked five. Fisher was 2-for-4 with a double. DeAndre Parker went 2-for-3 .

MVL (2-4) will play Friday at Mankato Loyola. BLHS will host Springfield on Monday.

Wabasso 3, Sleepy Eye 1

MILROY – Wabasso defeated Tomahawk Conference opponent Sleepy Eye to move to 3-3 in Tomahawk Conference baseball action.

Dirk Pistulka got the win for the Rabbits going all seven innings, allowing just three hits and striking out six. Pistulka also added a double at the dish. Neil Eichten added an RBI double as well.

Dylan Klein took the loss for the Indians, going 3 2/3 innings and allowing just one earned run. Brandon Polesky had a single and scored a run for Sleepy Eye.

Wabasso is now 4-4 overall and will play Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Friday in Milroy. Sleepy Eye drops to 2-5 overall and will play at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Monday.

SLEEPY EYE – Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s swept Comfrey/Cedar Mountain on Thursday in Tomahawk Conference baseball action.

Mike Zinnel was the winning pitcher in Game 1. He pitched all five innings, walked one, struck out five and he have up two hits.

John Brandl went 2-for-3 for the Knights. Mike HIrsch went 2-for-3 and Jarred Bolton went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Mitchell Treml was the losing pitcher going 4 2/3 innings. He gave up nine hits and 10 runs

David Suprenant was the winning pitcher in Game 2. He pitched five innings, struck out 10 batters, gave up four hits and one run.

Brandon Helget went 3-for-3 for St. Mary’s with an RBI.

Zach Kelly was the losing pitcher for C/CM. He struck out two batters and he gave up 11 hits and three runs.

Colton Kunkel was 2-for-3 with a triple for C/CM.

St. Mary’s (5-1) will play at New Ulm Cathedral on Friday in a make-up game. C/CM will play at New Ulm Cathedral on Monday.
