MANKATO – Both of Madelia’s golf teams were victorious on Tuesday.

Madelia’s Jordan Henry shot a 38 to medal. Zach Baumgartner (46) and Riley Benzel (47) were the other top boy golfers from Madelia.

Madelia also fielded the medalist on the girls side in Victoria Pietsch who shot a 53. Ellie Davis (54) and Carina Aguilar (58) also golfed for Madelia.

Madelia competes again at Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton on Thursday.

New Ulm boys 317, St. Peter 351

ST. PETER – The New Ulm boys golf team defeated St. Peter on Tuesday in a South Central Conference meet.

Kelton Schmitz carded a 75 while Ethan Kraus had a 78. Matt Saffert and Colin Huffman each scored an 82. Jonah Cooper shot an 86 and Tanner Zupfer scored an 87.

New Ulm’s next meet will be on Friday and Saturday when it participates in the Jordan Invitational Tournament.

St Peter girls 397, New Ulm 405

ST. PETER – St. Peter defeated New Ulm in South Central Conference girl’s golf action on Tuesday.

Corinne McKeeth led New Ulm with an 86. Kendra Clyne shot a 103 and Julia Schaefer fired a 105 for the Eagles.

NEW ULM – Minnesota Valley Lutheran prevailed in its golf meet with New Ulm Cathedral on Tuesday.

The New Ulm Cathedral girls won its meet with the Chargers.

Jacob Stuk of MVL was the medalist in the boys meet with a 44. Jacob Grunewald had a 49, Paul Gullixson shot a 52 and Alex Schauer shot a 57.

Josh Dummer carded a 53, Tyler Blackstad and Jack Wenner each had a 54, Hunter Dode shot a 57. Conner Jakes and Michael Hoffman each had a 58.

Ellie Dittrich and Megan Laraway of New Ulm Cathedral were co-medalists when they each shot a 49. Grace Gillis carded a 52 and Brooke Dummer shot a 54.

Katelyn Hardtke carded a 53 for MVL. Hannah Mohror shot a 66. Sarah Hinderman shot a 67, Lydia Petersen had a 68. Abbi Pliess had 73 and Sidney Freyholz had an 84.

MVL and New Ulm Cathedral will both participate in the Tomahawk Conference Meet at Oakdale in Buffalo Lake at 9 a.m. today.
