New Ulm competes at true team section meet
FARIBAULT – The New Ulm boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Section 2AA True Team track and field meet on Tuesday.
The New Ulm boys finished ninth out of 10 teams with 216 points. Mankato East won the event with 468.5 points.
New Ulm’s Tanner Ogren was fourth in the 100-meter dash (11.39), fourth in the 400-meter dash (53.34) and eighth in the high jump (5-8). Ogren was also second in the 200-meter dash (22.96).
New Ulm’s Ryan O’Connel was fifth in the discus with a throw of 117-feet and he was 10th in the shot put (40-9.5). Jacob Rakoczy was ninth in the 1,600-meter run (4:57.9) and ninth in the 800-meter run (2:14.24).
On the girl’s side, New Ulm finished ninth with 231 points. Mankato East won the event with 478.5 points.
The 4×200-meter relay team took fifth in 1:55.83 and Sarah Preisinger was seventh in the 1,600 in 5:50.23. Hailey Trautmiller was ninth in the 100-meter dash (13.51) and the 4×100 relay team was seventh (54.75). Emma Wenzel was 19th in the pole vault (7-feet) and Trautmiller was 10th in the long jump (14-11.25).
